Food there was quite very the good.

😀

but…. would i travel all the way just to eat it?

hehe…. NO…… ><

But if like got dinner or whatever then…..

hmmm…. i dont remember much, but i think i thought the steamed egg was quite good that time.

Asam fish

Toufu, la-la thong

hmmm…. i think the la-la thong was so-so only ><

but toufu… hmm… dont like fried toufu so didnt try it…

Salty soup and Marmite Chicken (or was it pork? hmmm…..)

SAlty soup tasted like…. salty soup. 😛

but marmite chicken/pork was…. hehe…so-so. like normal one.

I dont know why i haven’t tried a bombastic marmite chicken/pork. everytime i try one that everyone says is nice, i find it so-so only. maybe i don’t like LIKE marmite chicken/pork and just find it po-thung? hmmmm…..

but i do like ordering it, so hmmm……

oh, but this: was the best!!!

Fried (butter?) mantis prawn. YUM yum!

long beans, fried prawn and asam fish.

prawn…. dunno, cos i dont think i ate it. not much of a prawn eater. (must use hands peel….T.T)

did we order marmite mantis prawn too? cant remember…..

cooking crab noodle

dunno how it tasted cos too full by then T.T

Desserts!

Mochi, and

HUge peanut thong yuin

WITH GINGER!!!

bleck….

but lOTS of people  likes this alot….

especially the marms

but…… to me….

hehe. not so terrible ler, just that i dont like the ginger-y taste, and i want to be loyal to my poh-poh.

hers is the BEST!!!

no ginger, put pandan leaves, and her special stuff

then…..

COOL BANANAS!!!

Location: Klang, near the new justco

Kura

August 23, 2008

Just went to this place today for dinner.

ITs the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!

😀

thanks Elisa, for recommending the place. Feel bad for going there first without you… hehe….

SUpposed to go lunch there with her one of these days during her lunchbreak, but…. hehe…. woke up…. AFTER her lunchbreak….><

Kura, according to the man who took us around means underground storage. Don’t know why they named it that way though… sounds rather weird to name your restaurant underground storage though its on the 1st floor….. (like the 3rd floor restaurant on the 2nd flr at marriotts)

Interior of this place is really really cool! This restaurant is actually a branch of Rakuzen at Plaza Damas (also intro-ed by miss khong), another really really good japanese restaurant. Love the salmon chips there. but the setting there is…. terrible….

so dark and gloomy and squeezy….

Kura, on the other hand, has a much more roomier and brighter setting. Glass windows overlooking the jammed-up highway and the fake river….. but seriously though, the scenery outside not that bad 😀

Pricing…. if you dont order like, really expensive stuff like sashimi, kobe beef, tataki…. those kind of really expensive food, the bill would be quite reasonable. They even have pufferfish!

And Sashimis should be quite fresh I think cos they ship it over quite often and its often sold out before the next shipment arrived.

VERY good efficient staff service. Staffs dont give you that ‘tak chuin’ look, you know, the arrogant, wanna-smack-you-in-the-face kind of look….

but……………………

as good as a restaurant can get…. they do have some not so good points….. like…

Dunno whats the name of this fish, but it wasnt that good…..

Some snow crab thingy. the crab was a bit de hard and stringy, but i dont think it’s the crab’s fault cause we overcooked it…. soup base was quite good according to others, but since i’m not a big fan of miso… it taste so-so to me….. so overall i think this should actually be put into the good section 😛

The good/so-so/typical:

 some toufu thingy whingy….

Dunno how this one tasted cos didnt try it.

but if i DID though, i’d put it in the not-so-good section. cos I dont like braised fried toufu. 😛

salmon onigiri

Cranky Salmon Rolls

used to really love this. the crunchy crunchy bits.. *heaven-ness*

But dunno why this one tasted… so-so….

Almond pudding

This one actually tasted quite good, if it wasnt for the strong fake almond taste. then again, it IS almond pudding. I think the milk pudding would be really really really good.

The COOL BANANAS!!!

Ikura!!!

Love this to bits despite all the ragging i’m getting.

eh, if you eat Fish right, Fish can actually give birth to HUNDREDs of small tiny fishes….. So why eat FISH???

At least eggs, you eat it while its small, so the fish can continue giving birth to many other fishes…..

Soft shell crab and salmon to ikura handroll

Dunno bout the crab, but the salmon and ikura roll is QUITE good!

So fresh and juicy… *pengsan*

Dees L.O.V.E. LOVE this nabeyaki soba. Why?????

Cos its                             healthy……………… -.-   *deng deng deng* big surprise there. -.-

These Strawberry Ice(s?) are really quite good!

And, oh-mi-gosh, they actually somehow managed to push in vanilla ice cream inside!!! like…. 0.0

but, erm… you might want to let these cool/heat up a while cos when they say ice…. they really mean….ICE!

Japanese Plum sherbet

Its really really REALLY sour. but it tastes quite good too. (for those shi-mui lovers le)

but do be aware that its JAPANESE asam, not the chinese ones. Chinese ones are the best! 😀

but this sherbert is quite refreshing.

OH-MI-GOSH!!!!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!~~@@@@@!!!!!!

The best!!!

the bazooka of Sherbets man!!!!
the coolest BANANA!!!
The jumpiest monkey!

The Wackiest orang utan!!

the B.O.M.B!!!!

haha. get the idea? 😛

Yuzu Sherbet

really, the ABSOLUTE best.

Like got orangy orangy flavour with bits in it.

Yuzu is a citrusy fruit. kinda look like mandarin oranges.

sigh…

can just… *pengsan*

😀

so………………

after saying all this…….

would I go back again???
YEA MAN!!!

Would my parents go back again???

erm… NO…..

hehe. no le. kidding. they’re quite impressed with this place too. 😀

So do go try it. 😀

Thanks miss khong. 😀

Nikko Hotel

May 30, 2008

Had lunch at the Japanese restaurant there today, cos met elaine there.

It was my birthday lunch treat  XD

anyways, for appetizer, it was sashimi!

apparently, it melts in your mouth (to some people), to me… it tastes like normal salmon sashimi ><

didnt take a picture of it because…… sashimi is sashimi. it doesnt change colour from restaurant to restaurant 😛

The sashimi lunch set

again, with the melt in your mouth white (or was it yellow? ><  )tail

tenzaru udon (cold noodles)

unagi (eel) set

Dessert:

Normal macha (green tea)  and goma (sesame seed) ice-cream

the texture of this ice-cream was quite nice,

but… the taste, it was a TINY bit too sweet for me

erm… how did the food fared?

><  ><  ><  ><

I really don’t get what all the hype is about on this restaurant. To me, it tasted like other japanese restaurants…. ><

All in all, it was a gooood lunch 😀

 Thank you sooo much!!!!

haha. saw this on the way home:

Yep. Subaru is having a sale, so now would be the best time to get a car if you’re thinking of getting one. Call Paul! 😛

Shrimp Restaurant ><

May 8, 2008

Check out this new restaurant opened at the Curve!

It’s called…. Something something shrimp restaurant. 😛

And its all about………. SHRIMPS!!! XD

But…………. I don’t like shrimps……… -.-

But……… they have other stuff too! 😛

I wanna get the t-shirts they’re selling!!! Can use as house clothes or sports 😛

Seriously.

Like my crabby t-shirt.

So comfy and nice and soft and moveable and…. And….. ANYWAYS…. This kind of shirts are really good 😀

Can’t wait to try out this restaurant. They sell Cajun food too 😀

Anyone wants to go with me this SATURDAY???

What’s that? Exams? What exams??!!!??? XD

Exams schmazems!

Aiya…… need to refill my brain with energy food what……… 😛

But… but….it all goes to my tummy and femoral and biceps and triceps and all those other areas…. T.T

Oh. Oh!

There’s a cupcake shop in the Curve too!

It’s called Cupcake Chic

The place is oh-so-chic

The cupcakes look, oh-so-pretty

The boxes they give look, oh-so-cool

The taste of the cupcakes is… oh-so-SWEEEETTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

With all the icing and everything they use to decorate the cupcakes with………

It all tastes………………blech :S

Nice to see,

Nice to hold

Once you eat,

You feel so…. Cold? Old? Yold? Dold?

Ais. Don’t need to rhyme it le 😀

I guess its only for the really sweet tooths 😀

The people with really really REALLY sweet tooths….

The prices are also……………………………..

*pengsan*

Abit the pricey…. :S

But I guess it’s a bit reasonable if you consider the amount of icing they used.

And the nice custom boxes they give you

Then again… being the ‘aunty’ in me, and the housewife in training, I’d much rather they give me the cupcakes in plastic bags, and I’ll pay them lesser…. 😛

See how much $$$$$ I’ll save my husband in the future???? 😀

Awwww…………….. XD

By the ways, wshin, if you’re reading this….

I CAN”T REPLY YOUR MESSAGES!!! No CREDITS!!! ><

I told you already ler………………………

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

But…. I’ll be reloading as soon as I find (pass) a place that sell reloads

That’s why dees should really get me a fixed line… T.T *sigh…*

Oh why oh why are you guys leaving me at this point in time????
Couldn’t you have planned a better date????

Why now???

Why can’t you go in three weeks time?

How much difference is going in three weeks time going to make??? :S

Aiiiii……………………………..

Third Floor restaurant

April 16, 2008

Third floor restaurant

Did you know the Third floor restaurant is NOT even on the THIRD floor??????

Like………….. -.-………………………………..*sweat*

How can………..

It’s actually on the mezzanine level between the 2nd and 3rd floor! but…. hmm… its like the second floor really, cos there’s no second floor button on the lift….. -.-

so the Third Floor restaurant on the SECOND floor really do exist…. 😛

the THIRD FLOOR RESTAURANT

April 7, 2008

saw this in jww marriotts the other day (btw, the shanghai food there is the tops!):

An unidentified hot ass lady and a make-you-faint-able man walked in to the lift one day, she walked in to an open lift and pressed her room floor number and pressed the close button on the lift

on another unrelated lift, in walks in a family. the 2nd daughter was just about to press the restaurant floor number when something else caught her eye:

THE THIRD FLOOR RESTAURANT

‘what’s this?’ she asked

‘press it le, we have alot of time anyway’ says dad

and press it she did.

then…………………………………….

suddenly………………………….

the lift reached the third floor, and WHOOSH! the lift doors opened.

it was eerily quiet.

slowly, the dad put his foot out. then his head, followed by the rest of his body

seeing that it was okay to get out, the rest of the family followed behind him slowly.

creep, creep, creep, *grumble* *grumble* *grumble* goes the 3rd daughter’s tummy

then………….

whoa…………………………….. x0

shockness!

there stood a signboard that said….

THE THIRD FLOOR RESTAURANT

it really existed!

slowly, they walked to the front door. dare they walk in? dare they???

tune in, for the next episode of: the THIRD FLOOR RESTAURANT!!!

😛

but seriously… the third floor restaurant? i know its supposed to sound cool and totally different

but after seeing so many restaurants named like that…

next, the new restaurants popping up in kl is going to name themselves:

the chair (because you sit on a chair), the chinese (because its a chinese restaurant), the top floor (cos its on the top floor), (ok, i’m lame at making up cool/lame restaurants… -.-   )

but what if the restaurant moved to say… the ground floor? what would it be called then?

THE THIRD FLOOR RESTAURANT (located on the groundfloor)

or

THE GROUND FLOOR RESTAURANT THAT USED TO BE ON THE THIRD FLOOR

or

THE THIRD FLOOR RESTAURANT now GROUNDFLOOR

or

the THIRD GROUND FLOOR RESTAURANT

hehe. ok. ok. lame i know. 😛

JWW Marriot’s Shanghai Restaurant

probly one of the best chinese restaurant ever!

this cold ducks feet that we got for free. 😛 not bad according to my parents. i didnt bother trying cos…… trying to save my stomachs for……

this!!! chicken pie! the best ever!!!

and finally…. we have…. ‘chung yau meen’!!! (onion oil noodle) the absolute best in the world!!!!

of course we ordered others, but this was what i captured on my cam. 😛

others that are really nice: bamboo shoot, pork ribs, soup dumpling…. the list goes on and on and on……

so go try it when you’re in kl 😀

or…… maybe not…. if it gets too famous, its hard to find seats T.T 😛

korean food

April 16, 2007

ate korean food with my sister on friday and i have to admit, it was one of the ok (not best but just surface good) korean food i’ve eaten. the best korean food would’ve of course be the one i ate in korea. but this restaurant’s food is quite good too.

 this is what we ate:

my sister ate this. it’s korean mixed rice called bibimbap. its one of the reason i started liking korean food in the first place. just add 2-3 small saucers of a spicy sauce called gochujang and……. YUM YUM!!! 😀  it normally have different type of veggies in it. then if some restaurants are generous, they put in beef or chicken or pork at the same price as the shops that dont. like the korean restaurant in section 14 sells this for 16 or 18 dollars with pork or chicken while this restaurant sells bibimbap at the same price just without the meat…

we shared this. or rather, we ordered together, i ate it all. :p its korean sushi called kimbap. unlike the japanese one, the fillings are normally beef or chicken or pork and the meat is cooked. this is the only restaurant that sells kimbap, or the only restaurant i KNOW that sells it. i’ve been to ss2, section 14, hartamas, ampang, and so far i’ve not found any that sells it. oh! the mont kiara korean restaurant sells it too but theirs is too…. limpy( is that even a word? )…?

i ordered this. i kind of took the picture only when i was finishing it… 😛 its called bibim neng myun. and yeah, it probaby sound familiar. my sister ate the rice version of it, bibimbap. bap=rice. while i ate the noodle version of it. neng myun=noodle. unlike the rice version though, the noodle is served cold. and i think they gave me some refined rice wine vinegar i think, but i never did pour it on cos i prefer it plain.

oh! and i think we must’ve ordered too much for just the two of us, so the lady gave us a free bowl of steamed egg. (i know. sounds weird. we order too much, and she gave us another one) but i think it’s really all about customer relation. the steam egg tasted quite nice, though i dont know what its called though.

for dessert, we were served a korean drink called soo jeong gwa, sweet cinnamon punch. its the only restaurant i know that serve this in. did not really like it though. found it really interesting. gimme the good old fashion shikhye any time. 😀

this store is also the only store i know that sells dduk buk ki. its a spicy korean rice cake that you can normally find it on the streets of korea or at poh jong machas (did i spell it right?). the one in mont kiara DO sell it, but again, the ones they have there are interesting…

one thing about this restaurant though, was that they have so many workers, and when you’re eating, you can feel them staring at you all the time, making you concious about what you’re eating. that’s what i dont really like about the restaurant. the workers should look somewhere else when someone’s eating. not stare. 😛 but they were helpful and i guess they wanted to offer some assistance if i happen to need their help or to order something. but, it still did feel very weird to have a group of people staring at you while you eat.

all in all, if not for the staring workers, i give this restaurant 4.5 stars our of 5 for their variety and food.

p.s bibimbap here is not the best i’ve eaten though. kimbap is only sold during lunch time.

p.s.s. the restaurant i’m talking about is a restaurant called Doorae. it’s located at kota damansara, second floor, at the same row as watson and a pet store.
