i really have to stop

criticizing and comparing the churches here to RLC

if i keep doing that…..

no way i can ‘grow’ here.

 

A few years ago, my friend told me about the church she went to. about how they kept pestering her to take up their vision classes which teaches them about the vision of the church and like other stuff.

she refused to because she’s already gone through the kingdom classes in church (rlc) and one of the leaders actually told her:

if you don’t go for the classes you won’t be blessed.

i was like…

O.O!!!!

what the………

!!!!!!

so i told my dad about what the guy said and……

he actually agreed.

i was….. 0.0!!!!!

why?????

won’t God bless us anyway because He loves us???

he said:

each church has its own specific vision. like what God plans to do in that church. Some churches are like mission churches who aim at sending out missionaries and funding them. Some churches have other stuff that God would like them to do. Each church has its own vision. When you go to a church and you don’t flow along with the vision of the church, you’re not going to get alot out of that church. like you wouldnt be able to grow along with the church. So its always good that you know what the vision of the church is. Its not really that God would never bless us if we don’t go along with the vision of the church. its more like we…. (aih… abit forget what he said) wont be know how to receive it or ask for the blessings. (hmmm…. the last part i dont know how to explain. i understand what he said, but i dont know how to put it in words ><)

 

so once i find the church i want to go to every week, i’m going to join the classes.

but i’m a bit oscillation between 2 churches.

on sunday, i was like…

ok. this is the deciding day. if one message is better than the other, i’ll go to that church.

but then…….. both the messages in the 2 church was really good that day!!!

so its like….

Praying in Tongues

 

Talk about physical food first before going into spiritual ones.

went to this really really nice aunty and uncle’s place on saturday.

the food the aunty cooked was…

hehe… okla. i can be more honest here since she doesnt read this and the people i went with dont read this either. so i can be really.. erm… ‘than pak’ (honest) about it

erm…….. its definitely not the asian food i was anticipating.

i’m not sure if its the soy sauce or what that she used. it has a weird taste.

but.

it was seriously really nice of her to go through so much effort for us lor.

they were very nice. they even rented an estima so that the uncle can fetch all of us to their house and back. so nice hor

 

they’re also very strong in their faith and you can see they love God very very much and have a heart for overseas students.

but…. erm….. one thing i was not so comfortable was they spent quite a while talking erm… a bit not so good stuff about their old church and another church.

like…. its not that you cant talk about what you really feel about your old church or other churches, but…. well….

i dont think i would do that to someone i’ve just met or to people i’m not so close with.

if i’m not happy with a certain church, i’d normally talk to my close friends or leaders about it.

but…. well… they were going on and on about it ><

and they were the ones who said tongues is the least important gift of all.

they really dont see what importance it has

i kinda of told them, it was like a way for us to communicate to God. like our spiritman communicating

but then, they were like.

ok. maybe tongues help you communicate, but then how is it useful? maybe to you only, but to others?

i was like… huh?

why should it be useful to others when its for you to use? but of course its also used to kinda ‘help’ other la.

but didnt say la.

they were quite confusing about it. like i didnt really get what they were talking about after that. cos they started talking about how tongues is not important. it doesnt help you at all. then something about God speaking. like if God speaks then we sure can hear one. (but i think praying in tongues relaxes us and make us more…. erm… sensitive to God.) but they were saying no one really knows. like…. actually i dont understand why they suddenly say no one really knows lor. cos i dun understand how it connects to what they said previously.

but they were going on about how useless it is. prophecies and healing are more important. praying in tongues have like no point…. and stuff….

i didnt really get what they were saying. i dont think one of my friends beside me got it either cos she had that really confused look on her. like…

what are they saying???

 

but honestly….

i think

praying in tongues is really important.

cos its through praying in tongues that i get most of what God tells me. hmm… not really tell tell me, but like…. well….. somehow i know things when i pray in tongues.

take for example today, even after my whole noisy neighbours thing yesterday, i was quite worried about my test

and in the exam hall, i was like….

!!!!!

its not that the questions were hard. some were tricky but most were straightforward.

the ANSWERS were tricky. like there’s always TWO which are seriously similar to each other. and like, you have to read really eally carefully and really understand the materials before you can answer.

the questions and answers were loooonnnnggggggg like, you don’t feel like reading them. just browse through only -.-

it was 20 questions and i could only answer 9 questions. even then, i wasnt so sure of the answers. so i was like…..

okla. better just try try and see. take the risk. (my tests have negative marking system. each correct answer, 1 mark. each incorrect answer 1/2 marks deducted, each blank give you… blank mark :p )

and while i was doing it, i was like…

God… Jesus…I don’t care. You have to show me the correct answer.

and I started praying in tongues.

and………

guess what….

i just got my results back. (i think they use some kind of supercomputer to mark)

okla. so the point of my whole cheong hei story is that….

praying in tonges is IMPORTANT!!!

Saddened

I’m really saddened by the fact that some of the churches here thinks speaking in tongues is the least important gift of all.

someone said its not important at all.

some thinks prophecy is the most important gift God gave us.

 

i’ll elaborate later.

have to sleep now.

still scouting around for a church. going to 2 services tomorrow.

but i’m still thinking if i should go to both cos i have a test on monday :S

 

p.s. just wanna say…. well, in a way, sort of tel you

its a good thing they’re available for download

its a bit hard to adjust when some of the churches here focus on works of the law instead of grace

and some does not think praying is the most important thing

i think its really sad when people come to a church because of how good the worship is instead of how good the sermon is.

i think should be a balance of it.

no wait. scratch that.

i think sermon should have a bigger part.

slightly bigger part.

people may come if the worship is great. but will they stay on and be impacted by it?

i think great worship is like a tremendously great part of a service but not the main part/reason we in a church.

like if the messages suck…

you’re not going to…. erm…. be impacted or like be……aiyo…. dunno how explain

The SS2 video submission for MyGotTalents for youth service

MyGotTalents is a talent show they’re having at my church youth service.

Talents could be ANYTHING

some did hairstyling, cool chalk-art (word clarified by christine  ) with hidden messages on the background which can be seen only under uv lights, 50’s rock an roll dance, basketball skills, musical instruments (violin, cello), ballet (to come) and many MANY others. come join!!!

why????

cos of the prizes they’re giving out!!!

every month, the winner of that month gets a samsung mp3 player worth 300+

the GRAND PRIZE WInner that the finallists of each month gets to compete in gets an 80GIG IPOD!!! nano or what i dont know.

and…..

the zone with the most participants gets a sponsored BBQ!!!! for the WHOLE ZONE!!! tht’s like 50+ depending on the one size. and hey, bbq not those cheap cheap sausages only kind, okay… we’re VERY generous ok.

 

ANYWAYS, here’s SS2 submission.

The story’s about Isaac and Rebekah. Abraham, (Isaac’s father) told a servant to find a bride for his son Isaac. He doesnt want one from where they’re living in because they’re not his people. he wants one from his own ‘bangsa’.

so the servant had to travel far and wide back to abraham’s original country. he was so tired and he didnt know how to try and find a wife so he pray to God. the woman who offered to give him water and water his 40 (FORTY) camels would be the bride. a camel normally drinks 30-50 gallons of water at any one time. do the math.

so along came rebecca and she did just that. and she was chosen to be isaac’s bride.

 

anyway, the basis of the story is that when we serve wherever we are (for rebecca, it was at the well since that was where women at that time spent most of their time at each day), God is sure to bless us. and when we do things, do it wholeheartedly.

just to clarify a few things:

the leg seen kicking the girl (hui e) is actually supposed to be a camel’s leg. dont know how to put that in the video. and in the last part, the servant is looking at both isaac and rebekah lazing by the poolside while he works.

bet you were SUPERLY MEGALY surprised to see how well it turned out. hehe. who ask you doubt me in the first place.

Ghost

oh! do  you know, that ghosts are present during daylight??? I used to be very afraid of sleeping in a dark room at night. Would ALWAYS check my wardrobe and underneath the bed before i sleep. Just in case got ghost there….. (but then again ar… woudn’t it be better to NOT check? if really got then…. kantoi… :S).

once my eye’s closed, wouldnt dare open, in case open then see ghost or see this crazy mad clown (seriously scared of clowns….). would hide underneath my blankets, then….a friend told me about this scary show where the girl hid underneath her blankets but the ghost was inside… (0.0) 

but then eversince my dees told me two things…. i’ve been….. rather okay with dark rooms.

 

what is it?

1. Ghost doesn’t appear only during the night or in dark places….. If there’s a ghost, it’ll appear during the day too. Just whether it wants to show itself or not…. so why be afraid of the dark? if you’re afraid of the dark, then during the day also you should be afraid…. why live your life in fear everyday?

2. The verse he told me which i’ve been telling to myself whenever i’m in a dark place:

‘Greater is He who is in you, then he who is in the world’

meaning, greater than God who’s inside of me then the threats of the world.

like a testimony Pastor Margaret once told during service:

she was alone in the apartment one night. she went to the kitchen to get something. when she turned the kitchen light on, she saw this white figure. She felt really heavy inside and really scared cos this figure was just staring at her in a scary way. she was so scared, all she could think to say was ‘Jesus!’ as soon as she said that, the figure just disappeared and she felt PEACE inside of her. like feel so secure.  after hearing that, i was like…. o.o 

but then one thing bad bout this testimony is that, now everytime i go out to the hall at night, when its quite dark, i start feeling scared. like scared, what if i see it too T.T  before that, i was okay walking out when its semi-dark but after hearing that story, i was like……… 0.0   T.T

God loves you

Bible says,

Romans 3:23

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

 

be it lying (even out of good intentions) or killing. its still a sin. And any small or big sin….. HELL is the final destination for you….because

Romans 5:17

17For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, …….

So HOW???????????????????????????

Read the second part Romans 5:17:

how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

In other words, its says that sin came into the world because the first man sinned. With sin, death and evil entered the world.

BUT

With the death of an innocent man. One who NEVER sinned before in his life. Not even a small little white lie (No, you dont look fat in that clothes). With the death of that innocent man…. life everlasting followed. Those who accept him will enjoy eternity with him. All your past, present and FUTURE sins have been forgiven if you have HIM in your life. Jesus. With his death, no matter what sin you’ve done, is doing or going to do (even murder), its all FORGIVEN. Your sins died with His death.

Read Romans 3:23 and Romans 3:24 TOGETHER

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

That means as long as we accept Him, redemption and forgiveness is ours.

Why is Jesus so willing to die for us?

Even my parents wont die for me.

I would certainly not be willing to endure torture to save my kids.

I would certainly not be willing to let people crack open my skin with whips lined with glasses and thornes and coated with vinegar and salt

by this boring australian lecturer who’s stronger than coffee….. -.-

SERIOUSLY!

last time when i drank coffee, i’ll be able to stay awake the whole night. 2 DAYS if I have to. but now………….

he destroyed the power of coffee….

Sometimes I’d drink coffee before class if its by  a  boring lecturer and I’d be able to stay awake the whole day.

Its like…. after having 9-5 lecturers and having to drive all the way back…..

Once you reach home you feel like all you want to do is…….. SLEEP

Dont even feel like doing any assignments or any thinking.

I’ve thought about giving up pharmacy quite a number of times this week

Is it really all worth it????

I mean, you wanna earn more next time, but bussiness people earn MILLIONS (hopefully) a deal. So why choose pharm?

At least with business, all you do is read up more on your business, specialize in it and study your customers.

With pharmacy….why do I have to follow all the specific dispensing forms, remember the gazillions of meds (most of it doesnt work anymore), calculate how the drugs’d work on my customers (aiyo. just ask them take then if anything happen… go see doctor le. their job ma. we just give meds only ma.   my lecturers’d kick me out if they saw this ><  )

 

but then………….

Choose a course that will stretch you abit. Dont choose it just because its easy
