I L.O.V.E…..

March 22, 2009

I absolutely

love love

LOVE

Baking Soda!!!!

XD

(was that too much? lol )

see, my toilet’s been really smelly since I moved in

not because of me la, okay.

its already like that

its because of the floor drain.

Yeah, the toilets here have floor drains.

not the ones in the shower.

weirdly its like just somewhere on the floor

so weird right?

never see before….

anyways, daddeee says its most probably because of the floor drain.

the building’s fixing up man said the same too (he came once after i moved in. had to practically beg the agent to get him over -.- he didn’t fix up much stuff cos he said have to order parts and stuff and its been 3 weeks since then -.- student living- adelaide’s management really sucks. people upstairs keeps throwing ciggs down my apt and still no action. today, weirdly all the rubbish were thrown ON the floor instead of the two huge dustbins. its like the occupants here are doing some kind of weird protest against them. too dirty -.- and the ovens here are super dirty and smelly. and the filter above the cooking area have not been cleaned, and the reverse cycle conditioner probably have NEVER been cleaned before we came (dad had to clean it -.- ) okla okla. can  go on nonstop. :p the only really good thing is the location. :S )

ANYWAY

he said its because the pipes are ’s’ bends.

so water gets stuck in it. if there’s like an occasional flow of water down the pipes like in the showers or sinks, the water wouldnt remain stagnant in one spot.

so he said pour disinfectants down it.

but since i’m such a cheapskate…….

hehe.

i searched google

and it said

pour a lil bit of baking soda,

add vinegar

and leave it overnight

the next day, pour boiling water down the drain.

and voila!

smell-be-gone!

XD

i love how baking soda and vinegar interacts.

like….

sizzle sizzle

should go try it out

:p

why they do that?

go google it la. sure can find answer one. :P

but seriously. baking soda+vinegar= BEST cleaning agent

but baking soda on its on is really good too.

vinegar just makes it easier to remove the baking soda residue

but its a bit pricey lor

about 4aud for small bottle…. :S

its the only vinegar on the shelf i could find that’s NOT balsamic vinegar

This is why I love blogging

You guys have to read through all my nonsense writings!

:P

Now, if i tell you these face to face….

before 10 secs is out you’d already turn the switch off in your brain

-.-

here, you have no choice but to read it all

:p

But seriously though.

like in blogging, people would ‘listen’ to things you say that they wouldn’t listen if you tell them face to face.

i mean….

if someone talks nonstop about their trip to timbuktu to you, would you listen?

of course not!

because you can’t add anything in to the conversation.

but if you read it off a blog, you cry when the post is finished

why?

cos in real life conversations, you feel like weird if you don’t add in a conversation.

but in blogs, you’re not expected to add.

like….

aiyo… dunno how to explain….

:S

Baking Soda

February 27, 2009

I absolutely love love LOVE baking soda.

It’s like the absolute best creation ever known to man!!!!

I’ve been using boxes of it.

but not to bake. :p

its to clean stuff.

like my yucky disgusting smelly oven.

gosh. the amount of goey brown stuff in it…. DISGUSTING!!!! *retches*

I cleaned out my oven yesterday. techinically la….

here:

Before

After

lol. looks worse right?

BUT!!!!

It’s much cleaner now!

why?

cos the white stuff’s not bird droppings (like birds would fly into my apt and shit in my oven =.=)

its….

deng deng deng….

BAKING SODA!!!!!

:D

I spent 1.5 hours, trying to scrub the tray in the first picture with baking soda. used a box of it… =.=

gosh. i can’t explain the satisfaction and how thrilling it is to see those ugly brown and black spots disappear!!!
It feels like such an accomplishment!

like…. WOW!!!!

(i’m not being sarcastic here)

seriously.

but….. I just can’t bear the thought of scrubbing the other 3 trays…. and the inside of the oven. which smells…… YUCK!!!!!!!!!

so…. being the smart person that I am, I went to google and search for other alternatives.

just mix baking soda with water, and leave it all over the oven and where ever you wanna clean. leave it, sprinkle every now and then with water again, then after a day or two, scrub it with water and voila! everything will be gone!

(i’m still…. erm……… putting off the scrubbing away part… ><. the oven seriously stinks….   T.T)

(on a side note, the whole finding empty spraying bottles is a whole different story altogether).

my balcony’s…. a bit not nice to see now….

why????

cos….. me being the smart one, decided to leave the wet trays out to dry. and i only papers at corners of the tray. forgetting that the middle parts are wet too….

SOOOOOOOOOOOO

its all splotchy white now………

just hoping my landlord won’t be coming in soon… ><

btw, someone above my apartment has been throwing cigarettes down to my apt.

(which is quite a feat in itself. cos each floor’s balcony are the same size and at the same angle and placement.

the only hole between mine and the upper ones is a super small tiny drainage hole. so i seriously don’t get how the cigarettes can enter my balcony. i’ve complained a few times… but still…. the agent does nothing… =.=

they just say they’ll send a warning letter to the whole building but so far….. i have yet to receive any…. =.=

and there are so many fix-ups that they promised to do but….. =.=

bad bad management…..

a ‘gift box’

i don’t think you can see it, but the edges are where the cigarette butts are stuck

*one lil’ tit bit you might not know…. if your fridge stinks, put a lil bit of baking soda on like a plate or something and leave it in the fridge*
