here’s loisy’s adaptation of the onigiri (japanese rice ball)

normally, they’d put plums or salmon flakes or the yellow preserved thingy in it.

but like….. err……

lets just change it to something MUCH more easier to make…

if you don’t know what’s the thingy on top or have never tried it……………………

you’re missing out on the GREATEST condiment ever!

adding these flakes into your rice makes plain rice MUCH more appetizing. like, i can just add this and eat with rice alone. no need meat or anything ><

ANYWAYS,

first, you boil the rice, mix in the flakes

its best if you do this while the rice is hot so its easier for the rice to stay in shape when you’re done.

japanese food experts would actually mould it by hand while its hot but… i think my hands and arms have been tortured enough, so……..

just put it on a cling wrap.

fold one side

and the other and the other.

the aim is to get a triangle blob of rice

done done!

Was kinda locked indoors today….

was going to go out when i remembered had to bring keys but…….

i think the aussie cast did a better job than the us one.

i watched clips of the us one online and it didnt impress me much.

the casts for the aussie one are better looking too.

it opens with munchkins rejoicing the death of the wicked witch of the west (elphaba)

then dawns glinda the good.

‘it’s good to see me, right?’

then someone asked her how elphaba got to be so wicked.

then she goes on to this really nice song.

how elphaba’s dad was the governor of munchkins land. and her mom had a sort of affair with this other guy who gave her this green liquid which she drank. and the baby inside her came out green

DONT watch this video unless you’ve got lots of time. cos i only like the music from 3.30 minutes to 4.40 minutes…

then someone asked glinda was elphaba really her friend

so she started telling about how they knew each other:

elphaba came to the school with nessarose, her sister that couldnt walk.

everyone ran away from elphaba

galinda came in surrounded by friends

stuff happened and they both end up sharing rooms.

something bad is happening around Oz!

animals slowly are begin to be restricted to talk and to teach!

oh noooo!!!

elphaba’s teacher, this woman who controls the weather told her that she was going to recommend elphaba to see the wizard because she was amazed by elphaba’s extraordinary magic capabilities. elphaba goes on to sing. funny thing was, she sang about one day, there’s going to be a celebration for her. it turned out to be true later on. they were celebrating her death…..

galinda convinced boq, a munchkin who loves her to ask nessarose to the dance so that she can go out with the new guy, fiyero.

nessarose convinced elphaba to treat galinda nicer to repay her for encouraging boq to ask nessarose out.

so elphaba told her teacher to include galinda into the magic class, which galinda couldnt join.

galinda, touched by elphaba’s action helped to defuse an embarassing situation caused by elphaba at the dance. so they bonded.

at night, they were to tell each other something they’ve never told each other.

galinda’s secret?

she and fiyero was going to be married.

only…. he doesnt know it yet.

then she decided to make elphaba POPULAR

australian cast

one day during class, elphaba’s animal teacher got arrested and taken away.

then comes in these guys who showed the class a lion cub.

elphaba got angry when they zapped the cub and couldnt control her anger. somehow, it made others move in a weird way. fiyero grabbed the cub and took elphaba away.

they bonded and started to fall in love (surprise surprise)

but………. :S

the song so sad… T.T

then the elpaba’s teacher told her that the wizard wants to see her and she was to go to emerald city.

galinda came to see her off. at the last moment, fiyero came holding flowers. galinda thought it was for her, but it wasnt…

then they said something about being nice, and galinda decided to change to glinda so people wouldnt have trouble pronouncing her name -.-

elphaba convinced glinda to come with her to emerald city when glinda was sad about fiyero’s cold treatment towards her

they went to emerald city. saw the wizard. but he tricked elphaba to add wings to his pet monkeys.

when elphaba found out that the monkeys were to be spies and he was the one who started the whole humans and animals must be separated thing, she got mad, took the magic book and ran away with glinda.

elphaba’s teacher, who was in with the whole thing with the wizard announced that elphaba must be found. and its easy to spot her since she’s green. but the weird thing i dont get is, she was in emerald city. where everything is green. and i think the people are too cos when they first walked into the city, elphaba said she looked just like everyone else….

anyway, she runs off.

few years later,

glinda is now glinda the good

and she’s engaged to fiyero who’s now the captain in charge of finding elphaba.

the witchhunt for elphaba is on!

instigated by boq, the guy who was turned into the tinman and the cowardly lion.

lol. remember the lion cub that elphaba and fiyero rescued earlier on?

well… apparently, because elphaba rescued him, he didnt learn how to stand up for himself and grew up to be the cowardly lion who later on joined dorothy -.-

elphaba visits her sister, nessarose. this part was a bit scary….

nessarose is now the governor of munchkinland. boq is her ’slave’

elphaba heals her sister’s leg. boq, seeing that nessarose can walk tries to run away, back to glinda.

but nessarose got angry and took away his heart. to save him, elphaba changed him into the tinman

lol. get it? part of the dorothy oz clan.

elphaba visits the wizard again and is captured by fiyero. fiyero runs away with elphaba. awwww…. (but he shouldnt get engaged to glinda in the first place if he’s in love with elphaba -.-)

australian cast. lol. fiyero dont look so good close up ><

but boq does in the booklet.

to catch elphaba, glinda, hurt by fiyero and elphaba told the wizard to threaten nessarose’s safety. elphaba’s teacher, who’s an expert in weather caused a house to come flying in to oz and it….. landed on nessarose…. -.-

(remember wizard of oz opening?)

glinda gave the red shoes that nessarose was wearing to dorothy and sent her off to see the wizard.

elphaba came and saw her sister dead and wanted those shoes as its the only thing she have of her sister and her father (her father gave it to nessarose).

that’s why in woz movie, the witch was hunting dorothy for the red shoes.

fiyero gets caught and was killed.

T.T tears were like…. T.T

elphaba found out and was seriously mad.

her sister gets killed, she gets blamed for everything, fiyero was killed….

she decided that no good deed goes unpunished

and decides to end it all.

glinda comes in.

elphaba took a bucket, filled it with water, hides glinda.

(this song became super popular and is used in graduations and weddings and stuff. LOVE IT!)

‘who can say i’ve been changed for the better, but because i know you, i have been changed…. for good…’ T.T

then……..

remember the ending of woz where dorothy kills the witch by throwing a bucket of water on her?

yeah…..

so elphaba dies……

i seriously cried here… T.T

glinda, shaken up and fed up with the whole thing, orders the wizard to go back to where he came from and horrors of horrors……

elphaba had a vial of green stuff from her mom where the guy she had an affair with gave it to her.

glinda has only seen it twice. when elphaba showed it to her and when…. *gasp* the wizard tried to convince her to drink it……

!!!!

the wizard is elphaba’s dad!!!!

elphaba’s evil weather teacher was arrested.

everyone celebrated the death of the ‘wicked witch’.

then….. in secret……

elphaba’s monkey pet opened a hidden latch on the floor and elphaba comes out. fiyero comes in they hug. both walks away to the background. elphaba feels bad for tricked glinda but…..

its better this way….

and there you have it…

gosh. i seriously love this musical.

its not as predictable as other musicals i’ve watched.

like…. the whole storyline is really something different…

and the music… so catchy and awesome!

everytime they start singing, i dont go… aiya… why sing again. but instead its like… yay! they’re singing! :p

i dont find their music draggy.

go watch it if you have the opportunity too!!!

btw, contrary to the name, wicked is not like all witch crafty…….

only small minute parts….

its like this restaurant game thingy that mei e introduced me to on fb

its quite cool. but like….. its not something that will get you hooked on for hours. cos have to do lots of waiting.

waiting to get your popularity up and waiting for the next day to come so you can get more ingredients to cook and stuff.

there’s really nothing much to do other than that. so you’ll log in to check in on your restaurant every few hours or so.

but the really funny thing was, i bought too much chairs. and i put it all in one corner away from tables and my weird customers……..

they sat on the chairs waiting for the waiter to serve them.

but the waiter cant serve them cos… there’s no table in front of them so cant serve the meal.

and the whole time, my customer’s having this plate sign on top of him. after a while, he’d leave cos….. he cant eat….

even when i put the chair facing the wall… .someone would still sit there -.-

my cooking must be GOOD!

my whole apartment smells like…..

erm….. well, its more like pork now. early this morning it smelled like beef.

i ’slow-cooked’ a part of beef-i-don’t-know-what-its-called thing for about 5hours plus.

kept refilling water into the pot. and it was on slow fire. is that what slow-cook means?

but anyways, my beef broth smells REALLY good

then…. I just cooked fried rice cos had to finish up the meat in my freezer. two weeks old… -.-

gosh. if i’d just finished it up earlier…. i’d be eating kung-po chicken tonight instead of fried rice -.-

its weird. i asked for 3 slices of bacon from the guy at the market, but what i got was NOT 3 slices. it was ALOT okay….

i think he misheard it to be 13 pieces…..

i think the reason why it smells is because……….

i kinda over fried the bacon, which made it really erm…. sort of burnt and erm…. it emits like pork smell
