Praying in Tongues

 

Talk about physical food first before going into spiritual ones.

went to this really really nice aunty and uncle’s place on saturday.

the food the aunty cooked was…

hehe… okla. i can be more honest here since she doesnt read this and the people i went with dont read this either. so i can be really.. erm… ‘than pak’ (honest) about it

erm…….. its definitely not the asian food i was anticipating.

i’m not sure if its the soy sauce or what that she used. it has a weird taste.

but.

it was seriously really nice of her to go through so much effort for us lor.

they were very nice. they even rented an estima so that the uncle can fetch all of us to their house and back. so nice hor

 

they’re also very strong in their faith and you can see they love God very very much and have a heart for overseas students.

but…. erm….. one thing i was not so comfortable was they spent quite a while talking erm… a bit not so good stuff about their old church and another church.

like…. its not that you cant talk about what you really feel about your old church or other churches, but…. well….

i dont think i would do that to someone i’ve just met or to people i’m not so close with.

if i’m not happy with a certain church, i’d normally talk to my close friends or leaders about it.

but…. well… they were going on and on about it ><

and they were the ones who said tongues is the least important gift of all.

they really dont see what importance it has

i kinda of told them, it was like a way for us to communicate to God. like our spiritman communicating

but then, they were like.

ok. maybe tongues help you communicate, but then how is it useful? maybe to you only, but to others?

i was like… huh?

why should it be useful to others when its for you to use? but of course its also used to kinda ‘help’ other la.

but didnt say la.

they were quite confusing about it. like i didnt really get what they were talking about after that. cos they started talking about how tongues is not important. it doesnt help you at all. then something about God speaking. like if God speaks then we sure can hear one. (but i think praying in tongues relaxes us and make us more…. erm… sensitive to God.) but they were saying no one really knows. like…. actually i dont understand why they suddenly say no one really knows lor. cos i dun understand how it connects to what they said previously.

but they were going on about how useless it is. prophecies and healing are more important. praying in tongues have like no point…. and stuff….

i didnt really get what they were saying. i dont think one of my friends beside me got it either cos she had that really confused look on her. like…

what are they saying???

 

but honestly….

i think

praying in tongues is really important.

cos its through praying in tongues that i get most of what God tells me. hmm… not really tell tell me, but like…. well….. somehow i know things when i pray in tongues.

take for example today, even after my whole noisy neighbours thing yesterday, i was quite worried about my test

and in the exam hall, i was like….

!!!!!

its not that the questions were hard. some were tricky but most were straightforward.

the ANSWERS were tricky. like there’s always TWO which are seriously similar to each other. and like, you have to read really eally carefully and really understand the materials before you can answer.

the questions and answers were loooonnnnggggggg like, you don’t feel like reading them. just browse through only -.-

it was 20 questions and i could only answer 9 questions. even then, i wasnt so sure of the answers. so i was like…..

okla. better just try try and see. take the risk. (my tests have negative marking system. each correct answer, 1 mark. each incorrect answer 1/2 marks deducted, each blank give you… blank mark :p )

and while i was doing it, i was like…

God… Jesus…I don’t care. You have to show me the correct answer.

and I started praying in tongues.

and………

guess what….

i just got my results back. (i think they use some kind of supercomputer to mark)

praying in tonges is IMPORTANT!!!

Adelaide’s Weather

Adelaide’s weather is like super weird now.

like one week, it’d be a bit cold like 16′C

then the next two weeks, it’d shoot up to be 34….

then suddenly one day it’d be 20′ then the rest of the week would be 30+

now its like 30++

when it should be lower cos summer should be about over.

hehe. its been a while since i’ve done this.

 cos i’ve been eating ALOT of spaghettis lately…. its the easiest and fastest to cook.

i cook the most awesomely FANTASTIC

Lamb-thing-a-majiggy

i don’t really know what its called. ><

 

all i do is just marinade it with garlic, sesame oil, a tiny tiny bit of soy sauce and i think onions (i THINK) for like few hours

then…

fry fry fry

but i fried some of the garlic first. cos… i like the burnt garlic taste. ><

 

this is seriously easier to cook than spaghetti lor. just need to make sure you dont marinade it because you want to eat  it straightaway

like… let the marinade stuff sink in

take it from someone who’s cooked lamb for the first time

or not.

cos when the sun’s about to set, there are alot of those tiny tiny tiny flying insects that buzz around in a circle

like, those you can only see they’re there at some angles. and when you walk through a swarm of them, you don’t even know. only when you feel weird tickly feeling on your face then you’ll know….

i’m thinking of going alone. cos if my friends are along…. feel bad…. cos…. they like to jog. and i……erm… don’t jog. i walk. ><

cos they come all the way (they live far from the park) and they cant jog…. have to walk with me…. :S

but its like… sometimes quite funny lor. like when i went alone the second time, there were like one or two times that i had to go under this bridge. and like… abit scary to go under alone la. cos the underpass is quite big and dark and who knows… its someone’s house you’re trespassing…. >< >< ><

then… when approaching… dunno why…. the music i’m listening…… like suddenly got the tension sound. like the sound you hear in jaws (shark attack movie). then when i’m in the middle of it, the orchestra really bang the notes. like

as if something huge had happen

then when i’m like out of the bridge….

same like the sushi place i went in the afternoon. alot of my seniors kept saying the place was good good good

the sashimis were… thin… and the okonomiyakis (japanese pancake)…… okla…… :s

but.

ANYWAYS

the korean restaurant, its really not bad. and its quite ok price lor. like not to eat everytime, but once in a while.

      

every 2 bowls or rice you order, they give you a bean paste soup.

pics are eally bad cos i’ve downgraded to camera phone. something’s wrong with my camera. i can’t take pictures using flash. and its very…. erm…obvious i’m taking a picture. at least with a phone cam, i can act like i’m sms-ing. :p

like, would’ve missed it if you didnt see the small signboard.

i’ve told my friends about it, but i’m not telling them where is it.

when they feel like going, then they have to call me out to find the place.

fish cake and jajangmyun

they have other stuff like kimbap, bulgugi, and ddukbuki (korean rice cake. i can actually make this and it tastes… GOOD! at least thats what my friends say. but they’ve never tasted the real ones that you get on streetstalls in korea >< )

i’ve never been really fascinated with jajangmyun. even at that korean restaurant in melbourne whose jajangmyun loisy raves about, i’ve never really been that into it. i prefer the shanghainese/taiwanese style ones.

but if you eat jajangmyun with gochujang (red pepper paste that you add to bibimbap), it tastes really good!

cos to me, jajangmyun tastes abit… erm… bland… ><

but the gochujang really spice it up ><

its not so bad if i’m not having tests but i’m having a test tomorrow and its so bloody hard to concentrate/study when they’re busy singing their lungs out (which i hope they actually do =.=) or banging the piano away (yes. the piano. or more like the keyboard)

Saddened

I’m really saddened by the fact that some of the churches here thinks speaking in tongues is the least important gift of all.

someone said its not important at all.

some thinks prophecy is the most important gift God gave us.

 

i’ll elaborate later.

have to sleep now.

still scouting around for a church. going to 2 services tomorrow.

but i’m still thinking if i should go to both cos i have a test on monday :S

its a good thing they’re available for download

its a bit hard to adjust when some of the churches here focus on works of the law instead of grace

and some does not think praying is the most important thing

i think its really sad when people come to a church because of how good the worship is instead of how good the sermon is.

i think should be a balance of it.

no wait. scratch that.

i think sermon should have a bigger part.

slightly bigger part.

people may come if the worship is great. but will they stay on and be impacted by it?

i think great worship is like a tremendously great part of a service but not the main part/reason we in a church.

like if the messages suck…

you’re not going to…. erm…. be impacted or like be……aiyo…. dunno how explain

My friends were telling me about this funny ang mo guy they met on the tram the other day

He started by asking them where were they from

They said Malaysia.

Then he asked the STUPIDEST question.

to be fair, the orang aslis DO live on trees (maybe not as many now)

instead of flats and condos, we have super high trees. each branches live one family.

since i live in pj and study in klang, everyday i swing from tree to tree to my uni.

i’ll be like

or halfway swinging, stop by someone’s house/branch and eat.

my arms are longer than my legs. like chimpanzees.

since, you know, evolution. those with longer arms survive better. so over the years…. ancestors with longer arms survived.

(yeah. he made a loud heavy emphasis on that). if not when you go marketing, you’ll injure your arm muscles or your back. go buy a trolley. A TROLLEY, you know? like a pulling thing. Buy one from rundle. its cheap. only 100+
