science in the bible? is it possible???

October 11, 2007

so for many years, science have been trying to find a way to prove the bible wrong. can it? here’s some of the lies that science claims to be  true:

1. science recently has discovered that everything we see is composed of invisible atoms. in the scripture: things which are seen were not made of things which do appear

2. medical science- recently discovered that blood-clotting in newborn reachese its peak on the 8th day, then drops. the bible says: a baby must be circumcised on the 8th day

3. in 1500 bc, earth was believed to be sitting on a large animal or a giant. the bible: the earth’s free float in space ‘He….. hangs the earth upon nothing’- Job 26:7

4.man used to believe that the earth is flat, but prophet Isaiah tells us that the earth is round : ‘it is He that sits upon the CIRCLE of the earth’- Proverbs 3:6 . this scripture inspired Christopher Columbus to sail around the earth

5. solomon described a ‘cycle’ of air currents 2000 years before scientists ‘discovered’ them. ‘the wind goes toward the south, and turns about unto the noth; it whirls about continually, and the wind returns again according to his circuits’-Ecclesiastes 1:6

6. science expresses the universe in 5 terms- time, space, matter, power, and motion. Genesis 1:1,2 reveals to the Hebrews in 1450 bc ‘in the beginning (time) God created (power) the heaven (space) and the earth (matter)…. and the Spirit of God moved (motion) upon the face of the waters’, the first thing that God tells man is that He controls all aspects of the universe.

7. how to prove that the bible claims are true when it has no mention of dinosaurs? how did the dinosaurs appear? in Job 40:15, God speaks about a great creature called the ‘behemoth’. some critics thinks that this is the hippopotamus. but the hippo’s tail is not like a large tree as described in the bible. instead, a hippo’s tail is rather like a small twig. here are the characteristics of the huge animal:

-largest of all the creatures God made

-was a herbivore

- had its strength in its hips and a tail like a large tree

-had very strong bones, lived among the trees, drank massive amount of water, and was not disturbed by a raging river

-impervious to attack because his nose could pierce through snares

which all points to dinosaurs. but how did they become extinct? in the scriptures, ‘He that made him can make His sword to approach unto him’ in other words, God caused this. the largest of all the creatures He had made to become extinct. when did they become extinct? i’m not very sure. but most probably during the great flood that happened during Noah’s time. or maybe later. i’m not very sure. but i’m very sure that God DID create dinosaurs, and He DID wipe them out. when… i’m not very sure

8. during the black death of the 14th century, patients who were sick or dead were kept in the same rooms as the rest of the family. God gave a medical commandment that must be followed in Leviticus. following these commands would’ve saved MILLIONS of lives. http://www.aiias.edu/academics/sgs/info/v3n1/andress_cleanliness_holiness.html

isnt it amazing that scientists make all these claims, and yet…. what strong rooted proof do they have?

by the way, this whole information up there WAS NOT from my own understanding. i got all these from a Jesus Calls- True Friend mag. so credits are not to me.

this whole debate on science and God reminds me of this joke i once read:

scientists- God, we dont need you anymore. we can now make our own artificial humans, we can reproduce on our own, we can create new hybrids, we can………..(yada yada yatz) lets have a competition. if you win, we shut up, but if we win, you disappear forever.

God- ok. what do I have to do?

scientists- ok, since you say you create man, lets both do the same

God- fine. (and bends down to pick up soil from the ground.)

as the scientists scoops some dirt onto his own hands, God stopped him and said ‘no no, you use your own man made soil and i use mine’

so you see, even though scientist claim that they can create humans (which, yeah, they can, thru cloning), the basic material that they need still comes from God, so what they’re doing is just taking someone else’s stuff and re-modelling to something of their own.

btw, these was taken from ps dhinakaran’s monthly publication. not from me. :D

Va’aiga Tuigamala

October 11, 2007

isnt he the absolute best rugby player you’ve ever seen????

oh, and read this

http://www.thegoal.com/players/rugby/tuigamala_va’aiga/tuigamala_va’aiga.html

though the carrying the bible all around was a bit…….. for me, but still, :D

really admire va’aiga (wish i know how to pronounce his name… -.-) for standing on his belief. i mean, as a christian, in a highly publicised rugby team??? surely there must’ve been temptations, and other things that he have to run away from. and RUN he probably did (like joseph). my pastor said, when come into contact with any sexual temptation, dont be stupid and just stand there thinking you’re strong enough to go against it, RUN from it. not that you cant be trusted.  YOU can be trusted, but can your body be trusted? so just run.

omg, there’s just so many things i want to tell you about va’aiga, but its so hard to find the right words to do so.

and he must’ve been really happy in Christ because you can see it in him, in the way he talks, walks, conducts himself, (as told by Jason Robinson in http://www.rejesus.co.uk/sport/jasonrobinson.html, and http://www.christiansinsport.org.uk/stories/stories_51_Jason-Robinson-announces-retirement.htm)

its amazing how va’aiga can get people to Jesus, by just showing how much of Jesus there are in you.  my friends never felt changed by the way i potray myself… -.-

man, this guy just blow my mind away. wish i can be like him. haih…..

ol’ granny

October 10, 2007

i now officially know what i look like when i’m 60…. T.T took a mixture of painkillers and antibiotics for my wisdom tooth, and somehow (i’m not very sure why though) whenever i take meds like panadol or codral, my eyes goes bengkak-tated in response. T.T   like SERIOUSLY bengkak-tated…. it goes so huge, i can bare open my eyes or see…. i’m not exagerating here, though i wish i was T.T

but this time, the bengkak is different from when i take panadol or codral. when i took those, the bengkak comes in the form of lumps the size of 3 mosquito bites per lump. and i’d get 5-6 lumps on each side, each bottom. top i normally get bigger ones but lesser lumps. this time though, on monday, i get the biggest lump that i’ve ever gotten, and its both on the bottom only. not sure why though. but its HUGE…. when i first woke up, it was on the left side, then i went to bed, and when i woke up in the middle of the night, the left side lump is so huge, i can barely see. the right side one though, was getting smaller. maybe the lump was pushed from one side to the another. :p

then the next day, it was the top’s turn -.-, when i went to see the dentist again, cos the bleeding wont stop (its supposed to stop latest by 2 hours after the extraction, but mine kept bleeding for 3 days- and counting). when i went there, he was quite shocked to see my left top eye getting bengkak. he never seen anything like it before. had to do an extra stitch cos the bleedin wont stop. needed injection (T.T) again. on the way to the carpark, it was so big and soooo noticeable i had to wear sunglasses. ALOT of people were looking at me weirdly…. probably, due to the fact that i’m wearing sunglasses in the building and there’s no sun outside. and probably due to the two big sores i got at the side of my lips due to the extraction. i probably looked like i just went through a beating. :P

by the time i got home, i was trying my best to see thru my right eye only to drive. :S later, my left eye started becoming bengkak. by this time, i didnt even care about it anymore. just let it go as bengkak as it want.so all night long, i was walking around the house with two bengkak-tated eyes. i aged ALOT. like, i looked like an old grandmother…. it was scary… :S but by 11, both went down, and when i wore my specs, its hardly noticeable…

oh ya. what extraction? my wisdom tooth. :S did only one side though. and let me tell you, one side was ENOUGH for that day…. so bloody painful…. it was so hard to take it out. he had to keep redrilling over and over again. like drill, then pull hard, and since it still wont come out, re-drill again, then try pulling out. again. then re-drill. pull. drill. pull. it went on for like 6 times before  it was finally out (hallelujah!) normally, wisdom tooth takes only half an hour to remove, but mine took bout 1hr15 mins to finally take it out…. T.T   and to think. next week i have to remove the other one. GAH!

royal lake club

October 7, 2007

finally… after 1 year of not going there, we decided to go back one last time before making a decision on whether or not to cancel it.

and the verdict is in. ladies and gentlemen…………………………………… we have decided to……………..

CANCEL the membership!!!

hehe. there’r not many things there anyway. tropicana has a nicer club. but you have to admit, rlc has better things happening. its more active. but there’s something about the whole atmosphere that just turns you off.

hehe. actually, clubs here are actually a place where rich people go to get cheap food. most clubs i’ve been to, have very reasonable food prices, and sometimes, quite cheap too. only problem is…. the monthly subscription fee you have to pay -.- which in the end, you might as well cancel your membership and eat at some other high class place.

haih… goodbye rlc….. the 2nd ever club that we joined. :P

hmm… looking back at the clubs we’ve joined, i kind of think its a waste of money. you see, my family is not very active. we’re not so into exercise or sports so joining a club where we never use the facilities is kind of like… -.-

hmm… so far we’ve only joined 4 clubs (that i can remember of… )

1st- dont remember the name, but we used to go there quite often to swim….. for a short period of time, before we get sick of swimming. :p

2nd- rlc. hehe. i can probably count the number of times we’ve been there with my hands! not often.

3rd- royal selangor shooting club (or some selangor shooting club or something). my god… that place…. was terrible! so dirty…. they have a really nice slide there to slide down when you wanna swim, but the after swimming part….. ughhhhhhhh. let me copy a phrase from larry and chuck. ‘oh, eeewwiiiiieeeeeee!!!!!’  cant stand the bathrooms there… x.x

4th- tropicana- probably the best club ever! that we joined though. the bathroom stalls still have some cleanlines issues and piping problems. but the pool! its certainly not bad. though you have to go there at a certain time. cos at the wrong timing…. it’ll be full of bugs…. ‘oh. eeeewwwwiiiieeeee!!!!’ (:P)
